The Annual Met Costume Institute Gala Benefit is happening RIGHT NOW at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The fashion will emulate the theme 'China: Through The Looking Glass', but it's all about the face here! Here's a look at celebs as they hit the red carpet and what we recommend you try if you like the look! Also, click the brands for more details!
That skin! Start the morning off with a mask that will soften and brighten your face so your natural glow with shine through your foundation. Try Pure + Simple Skin Restoration Mask. It's popular on mornings of weddings.
I'm loving Elizabeth Arden's Color Natural Eyebrow Pencil lately. The point on the pencil is super tiny so you can get thin hairlike strokes through your brow.
If you haven't tried Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush, you should. It takes some getting used to but the results are a sleek cat-eye or a define eye with no stray hairs to ruin the line.
Those nude lips look amazing. Guaranteed it's a lip pencil with a hit of gloss over top. Try MAC Lip Pencil in Dervish. Use your favourite nudey pink gloss on top.
This hair is easier than it looks. Curl with a one inch curling iron (my favourite is Hot Tools 24K Gold Curling Iron) in sections with the curl spiralling toward your face. After it has cooled take a wide paddle brush and gently brush the curls until you get a wavey pattern. The more you brush the more the curls will form and expand into shape. Use the BEST hairspray ever Kevin Murphy Session Spray.
Hollywood hair loves a red lip. Burberry Kisses Lipstick in Military Red is stunning. It's soft, creamy, and a perfect balance of matte and velvet.
For a nice pinky glow I really like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping. It's a beautiful warm blend of pink, gold, and beige for a high shine that isn't sparkly. A tiny bit on the centre of the mobile lid of the eye is lovely too.
If you look closely you'll see Jennifer has at least 3 eye shadows and 2 pencil liner colors. I love the green liner on the bottom. Elizabeth Arden makes a great one in Pine.
A few neutral colours of eye shadow would work great for this. Try something light on the inner corner and build darker toward the outer corner. Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Sophisticate is a nice neutral palette.
Love these bright lips. OCC makes a great range of lip tars that are really pigmented (drag queens love them) OCC Lip Tar in Queen looks like a close match. If it's a little bright blend it with a lighter shade of lipstick to dull it.
I really like Benefit Box Powder in Coralista. It goes on soft really brightens the face. Try it for a summery glow.
A gorgeous natural look on Kylie..can take a lot of work haha. Here's a few things that can help. Ardell Lashes in 120 Demi Black. They are long yet natural. Also, they have spaces between clumps of lashes which allows light to pass through them so they cast less of a shadow under your eye...now that's a tip for you!
MAC Studio Chromagraphic Pencil is a dream come true for your water line. It's a nude colored eye liner and it will erase all the redness/pinkness from your water line...instant youthfulness!
Benefit High Beam is a beautiful highlighter. Use it on the high points of your cheeks, the very tip of your cupid's bow and a little just on the bridge of your nose between your eyes (don't go all the way down your nose as this makes your nose look longer). For a more subtle glow, put the highlighter on before you foundation. It'll shine through from underneath.
To get a full nude lip, use a lip liner all over. Try NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink.
She always looks amazing. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when she gets ready one day.
To get these killer lashes try Esqido Lashes. They use cruelty free mink hair (the animals are brushed and the hair that sheds is used to make the lashes). They are light weight and have a natural texture.
To get this eye shadow shade use bronzer! It's closer to a 'natural' shade so it will enhance and define the lid and add a little shimmer. Try NARS Bronzing Powder.
For a super defined eye, Tom Ford makes a dual ended Eye Defining Pencil. One end you can use for the perfect flick and the other for a more subtle fine line.
My favourite mascara for getting close to those bottom lashes is MAC Extended Play Mascara. The wand is lean so it fits in nicely without smudging on the skin.
I LOVE a bold lip and a nude eye, it looks stunning. Lily is a perfect example. To get the lid an even skin tone you can use your foundation or try MAC Paint Pot (Lily's color is likely Painterly).Use it lightly and buff it in to the lids with a fluffy brush so it doesn't crease from too much product.
Yves Saint Laurent makes a gorgeous concealer called Touche Eclat. It conceals and illuminates beautifully. It can also be used to brightening areas like the nose, cupid's bow, and chin.
For a long lasting bold lip make sure to fill in the entire lip with a lip liner and then go over it with your lipstick of choice. for a close match to Lily's try MAC Lip Liner in Nightmoth and Chanel's Rouge Noir Lipstick
